Israeli navy ships attacked, on Monday morning, several Palestinian fishing boats, less than three nautical miles from the shore, northwest of Gaza city, in the besieged coastal region.

Eyewitnesses said the navy fired many live rounds at the boats while fishing west of the Sudaniyya Sea area, northwest of Gaza city.

They added that the attack took place approximately at 6:30 in the morning, and forced the Palestinians to return to the shore, without being able to fish and provide for their families.

On Thursday, March 25th, 2021, Israeli navy ships attacked several Palestinian fishing boats, causing one to capsize, near Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip.

The attacks are part of the dozens of Israeli violations targeting Palestinian fishermen, farmers, and workers, in the besieged and impoverished coastal region.

The Oslo Accords signed by Israel and the Palestinian Liberation Organization in 1993, and 1995 stipulated that the Israeli occupation authorities must allow Palestinian fishermen to sail and fish up to 20 nautical miles off the coast.

However, Israel keeps unilaterally changing the allotted miles, and constantly attacks the fishermen near the shore, leading to dozens of casualties, including fatalities, in addition to arrests, excessive damage, and the confiscation of boats.
