Commander: Afghan People Exhausted of US Atrocities
TEHRAN (FNA)- Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces for Cultural Affairs and Defense Publicity Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri condemned the US forces for massacring the civilian people in Afghanistan, and said the Afghan people are exhausted of Washington’s atrocities and wrongdoings in their country.

“The Americans should know that the Afghan nation, especially the pious youths of this country, is tired of the occupiers and the damaging ramifications of the illegitimate presence of this unwelcome guest,” Jazayeri said. “US soldiers must experience the bitter taste of retaliation so that they do not feel peace and security anywhere in the region,” he added. Jazayeri said despite the recent US atrocities and the wave of Afghan outrage and protests, there is apparently no one in the White House to fully comprehend the “dangerous dimensions” of the continued presence of the American military in Afghanistan. An American sergeant killed 16 civilian Afghan people: nine children, three women and four men in two villages near his combat outpost in Southern Afghanistan last Sunday. Leaders from across Afghanistan’s fragmented political terrain have expressed anger and outrage over the attack in the district of Panjwai, in Kandahar province. Afghan President Hamid Karzai condemned the weekend bloodshed as “unforgivable.” Afghanistan’s parliament demanded a public trial for the suspect, and the Afghan Taliban described the US troops as “sick-minded American savages” and vowed to exact revenge. It is speculated that Sunday’s killings could reignite the anger that led to deadly riots directed at international forces last month over the burning of Qurans by the US troops. That was one of a string of incidents involving American forces that have strained ties between the United States and Afghanistan.
